BLOSSOM IN YOUR CHOOS - Jimmy Choo

The Choo Sketch Collection

Inspired by finding creative escapism in sketching, the Choo Sketch collection brings to life five winning sketches of fantasy shoes, designed by our Jimmy Choo community in June 2020 and handpicked by Creative Director Sandra Choi to be realised in a capsule collection.

Bringing people together in an exploration of creativity, Sandra invited our global community to dream and join her in sketching fantasy shoe designs during lockdown last summer. With over 10,000 sketches submitted, Sandra selected 10 finalists, with the five winners voted for by the Jimmy Choo Instagram community. The winning sketches are unique in design but united in symbolising creativity, optimism and hope.

BLOSSOM IN YOUR CHOOS

As a fashion designer, it has always been my passion to create unique and eye-catching pieces that leave a lasting impression on anyone who sees or wears them. That's why I was thrilled to be a part of the Choo Sketch Collection, an initiative that brought together designers from all around the world to explore their creativity and share their love of fashion.

When I first heard about the Choo Sketch Collection, I was immediately drawn to the idea of creating a fantasy shoe design. As someone who has always been inspired by nature and its many wonders, I decided to focus my design on the beauty of blooming flowers. To me, flowers represent new beginnings, growth, and renewal - all qualities that I wanted to convey in my design.

My winning sketch, BLOSSOM IN YOUR CHOOS, was inspired by the beauty of nature and the promise of new beginnings. The delicate satin flowers that adorn the sandals were carefully painted by hand, and each petal was embroidered with precision on the toe and ankle straps. This attention to detail was essential in creating a truly luxurious and elegant design.

The design process was both challenging and rewarding. I spent countless hours sketching and refining my ideas, experimenting with different materials and colors, and imagining how my creation would look and feel in real life. I knew that I wanted my design to be elegant, feminine, and sophisticated, with a touch of whimsy and playfulness.

Finally, after many long hours of hard work and dedication, my design was complete. I called it "Blossom in Your Choos," a name that perfectly captured the essence of my creation. The sandals featured exquisite satin flowers that were painted by hand and embroidered on the toe and ankle strap, creating a stunning visual effect that was both delicate and bold.

Being a part of the Choo Sketch Collection was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will never forget. Not only did I get the chance to explore my creativity and push the boundaries of my imagination, but I also had the opportunity to work alongside other talented designers from all over the world. It was truly inspiring to see the different perspectives and ideas that each designer brought to the table, and it made me appreciate the beauty and diversity of the fashion industry even more.

As a designer with extensive experience in leather footwear and leather goods, I was thrilled to be a part of a project that combined both artistry and craftsmanship. I have worked with many Italian manufacturers throughout my career, and it was an honor to see my design brought to life with such precision and attention to detail.

The Choo Sketch Collection represents an exciting new chapter in my career as a designer. It has allowed me to showcase my skills and creativity on a global platform and has opened up new opportunities for me in the luxury fashion industry. I am grateful for this experience, and I can't wait to see what the future holds.

Being part of this project has also given me a sense of pride and accomplishment. Knowing that my design will be worn and enjoyed by people around the world is a humbling experience. It's a testament to the power of creativity to bring people together, especially during challenging times.

In the end, "Blossom in Your Choos" was more than just a design to me - it was a symbol of hope, creativity, and optimism during a time when the world needed it most. I am proud to have been a part of such an innovative and meaningful project, and I hope that my design will inspire others to dream big and pursue their passions with confidence and determination.
